Faith Formation Assistant/Safe Environment Coordinator
Job Type: Full Time
Hours: Monday - Wednesdays 11 am - 8 pm, Thurdays 8 am - 5 pm, Fridays 11 am - 5 pm, Sundays 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Weekends/OT Required: Often
Education Required: HS Diploma
Catholic Required: Yes
Bilingual Required: YesEssential Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
- Collaborate with the Director of Faith Formation
- Responsible for organizing & supervising catechists and volunteers
- Obtain baptismal certificates for registration/sacrament classes
- Maintain accurate and updated student records
- Keeps class roster and attendance records for catechists
- Must learn/become proficient in the use of ACS program for entering and maintaining participant data
- Maintains regular communication regarding progress, concerns, or problems with Director
- Schedules and prioritize work in a timely manner
- Assists Director in planning the schedule
- Follow Parish Procedures
- Submits proper room reservation forms
- Requests necessary supplies in a timely manner
- Attend Staff meetings
- Adheres to Safe Environment Policy
- Ensures that ministerial volunteers follow the safe environment procedures as detailed by the safe environment policies of the diocese.
- Works with staff to maintain a current database of cleared adults.
- Provides safe environment training opportunities for the different ministries in the parish
- Cooperate with the other staff members for the smooth running of the parish office and work together on mutually beneficial projects.
- Welcome people to the office and find ways to help them.
- To keep open lines of communication with other members of the Pastoral Staff or Parish Staff regarding any items of concern or interest.
Job Requirements- Must be a Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Excellent people and telephone skills
- Quick learner and able to follow directions
- Skilled in handling money, tracking payments, and issuing receipts
- Must be able to keep office activities confidential
- Good keyboarding skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Publisher, and Excel
Education and Experience- Must have High School Diploma - College helpful
- Prior office experience is a MUST
Special Requirements:- Willingness to serve the parish as is needed in all aspects of the parish life.
